The concept of infertility is a common complication among both women and men, and is directly linked to the inability to become pregnant. Typically, if a woman can not become pregnant after one year, then they are known to be infertile. If a woman has several miscarriages, then she is also stated to be infertile, as her body is unable to carry through with a pregnancy.
With this specific definition, are several reasons that infertility may occur, all which link to the main way in which the reproductive system interacts with the body and the inability to become pregnant.
Infertility in Women
It is known that 1 in 10 women are infertile and are unable to get pregnant. One third of the cases linked to pregnancy come from the woman not being fertile. This may come from relationships to the ovaries, fallopian tube, uterus or eggs that attach to the sperm to become fertile. If there is a complication or problem in any of these areas, it may cause infertility.
There are several reasons why infertility in women occurs. For instance, having physical problems with the uterus may stop the uterus from being able to conceive the sperm. Fallopian tubes in women may also be blocked, typically which is linked to a disease that is within the body. Uterine fibroids, which causes the uterus to block sperm may also be a cause of infertility. Typically, a woman will notice when there are difficulties in conception because her menstrual flow will be irregular or will cause abdominal pain more then usual.
Infertility in Men
Similar difficulties are noted with infertility in men, which includes one third of men who are unable to get a woman pregnant. The two main factors that relate to this infertility level is from men not being able to make sperm or from the sperm being unable to reach the egg in a normal structure. Usually, these infertilities are related to diseases, toxins or medications that cause a man to become infertile. At other times, the problem may be from birth that does not allow for the sperm to be fertile.
With these specific problems related to infertility, are different ways to understand the problem and difficulties that link to the inability to become pregnant or get a woman pregnant. By meeting with a doctor and taking specific tests, an individual determines whether they have the capacity to become pregnant or whether they are infertile. Options such as an uterus test or a sperm test allow you to determine if the inability to be pregnant is linked to infertility problems that may occur. |
