Treatments for Infertility

image

If an individual has found they are infertile for any reason, then they may want to consider the treatments that are available. In some instances, men and women have an imbalance, illness or other factor that may not provide the ability to ever have children. However, in other instances, an individual can find a solution for infertility and can work towards finding a way to increase chances of becoming pregnant.

Infertility Treatment

The first step to finding a treatment to infertility is to find what the specific problem is related to. If this is genetically linked or is related to an illness, as well as a lifestyle alteration, there may not be the ability to find a direct solution. However, doctors have found that with some, there is the ability to find the specific problem and to work towards increasing the chances to become pregnant through medications or surgery.

If the infertility is linked to the male, then there are specific treatments for male infertility. The first is related to having low sperm count. Most likely, this is attributed to behavioural changes. For instance, if a male smokes, then it decreases sperm count. Stopping these behaviours is a beginning step to find a solution for infertility. If this is linked to diseases or other more complex problems, then medications can sometimes be used to build the sperm count level among men. If the medications are not an alternative, then sometimes a surgery is used to remove sperm from the reproductive tract.

For women, medications are also used to offer different alternatives for treatments. There are six main types of medications that are used for helping with infertility. However, before this occurs, the specific problem has to be recognized. If the problem is related to stress, diet, age or other common problems, then this may not be the best solution. If the problem is linked to the uterus, fallopian tube or eggs not being able to conceive, then these medications can work as an alternative.

Solutions for Infertility

Most of the medications used are designed to help with consistency in the reproductive system, specifically by targeting the ovulation levels among women. This is done by having the medicine move to the pituitary gland and regulate the hormones that need to be released from this area. Another medication, known as Parlodel, also provides extra hormone levels to the body, specifically by producing Prolactin.

If medications do not seem like a valuable answer, then having a surgery to assist with pregnancy is also an option. In this instance, a sperm may be ejaculated into the woman. In other instances, both the sperm and egg are removed from the woman. After the egg becomes fertile, it is placed back into the woman. 35% of women who use this method become pregnant from this formula.

If you want to have a child, but are unable to get pregnant due to fertility, then trying different methods to assist you is a solution to begin building your family. Through the different medications and methods used, is the capacity to increase your chances for having children and moving beyond infertility.
